China is in the process of urbanization development, in which land plays an extremelyimportant role. No matter the population aggregation, industrial structure adjustment orinfrastructure, the land resources cannot be separated from the process. Our land is facing abig challenge, which is rarely seen in the world: on the one hand, the urban land expansionis inevitable during the development of industrialization and urbanization, on the otherhand, urban expansion is occupying the valuable land resources. What’s more, in someplaces there is a phenomenon of land resources waste. Because of the reality of China, intensive land utilization is the core issue of land use. Therefore, the study of urban landuse issues, for improving China’s urban land intensive use, conservation of land resourceshas important practical significance. In order to reflect more about Shunyi District land intensive utilization, the paper usesdata envelopment analysis method referred to as the DEA method to analyze the landUtilization of Shunyi District and calculate the degree of intensive use with land andin-depth analysis on the basis of the results. Shunyi land utilization also compares withothers in order to better present. At last, through a series of analysis, we will remain theurban land intensive use of the effective factors and improve the constraining factors, which can provide a theoretical basis for the local government to change relevant policies. This paper was divided into seven parts: The first part was an introduction, mainly onthe background, the purpose and significance of the theoretical basis of the research statusat home and abroad as well as the Institute. The second section described the theoreticalbasis about intensive use of land. The third section dealt with the principle of dataenvelopment analysis (DEA) as well as specific ideas for the land evaluation. The fourthpart was the use of principal component method to optimize Shunyi District land intensiveuse evaluation index system. The fifth part was the focus of this article, DEA scores from2006to2011and compared with other districts, the reasons for the decline of the level ofintensive use of land was found out. Part six put forward recommendation, combined withthe actual situation in Shunyi intensive use of land. The last part studied the conclusion andthe outlook for the research.
