Research On Cause, Boundary And Evolution Of The Core Enterprise In Supply Chain

As the economic globalization accelerates, the competition between companies hasalready turned into the competition between supply chains. Supply chain becomes an issuethat no company could ignore. Especially the competitiveness of the supply chain is heavilyinfluenced by its stability. Now since the core enterprise becomes more and more important insupply chain, the core enterprises has became one of the core issues in supply chain research.However, how did core enterprises come about? Did their boundary change? How will theychange? Do these have impact on the stability and competitiveness of the supply chain? Thesequestions have always been ignored in the research field. Therefore the research on the cause,boundary and evolution of the core enterprise and their effects on supply chain will be thehighlight of this thesis.Based on related literature domestic and overseas, this thesis combines theory and casestudy and discuss the cause, boundary and evolution issue of the core enterprise. First of all,define and classify the core enterprise and find the factors affecting the cause of coreenterprise. Furthermore, discuss the influences of the existence of core enterprises on supplychain. Secondly, conclude and analysis the influencing factors on the boundary of coreenterprise. Then use three theories of the firm, based on transaction costs, based onresource-based and based on core competence, to explain vertical integration and supply chainalliance and add specific case analysis to make further study, summarize the influences of theboundary change of core enterprises on supply chain. Thirdly, based on the analysis of thefactors affecting the role of core enterprise and the summing up of the evolution types of coreenterprise, summarize the influences of the evolution of core enterprises on supply chain.It’s found that the existence of whether or not, the boundary changes and the evolution ofcore enterprise have great influences on the stability of the supply chain. And theimprovement of the stability will also make better competitiveness. When a supply chain hascore enterprise, its stability are much better than the one without core enterprise, and it willfurther impact the former’s competitiveness and benefit to be much better than the latter’s.When the core enterprise is supply enterprise or retail enterprise, they are easier to carry out vertical integration, and the core enterprise with expanded boundary could make its supplychain become steadier and more competitive. The different evolutions of the core enterprise ofsupply chain will make different impacts on its stability and competitiveness. The multi-roletransformation will bring positive impact on the stability and competitiveness of the supplychain. However the single role transformation and the double core transformation havedifferent impacts on the stability and competitiveness of the supply chain in accordance withspecific conditions.
