As the global service economy develops, producer services have become the leadingindustry of many developed countries. Guangdong now is in the golden period for producerservices development, and transforming producer services into a new engine of economy is akey success factor for its industrial transformation and upgrade. Cluster is the most obviousand important feature of producer services. Finding out the cluster degree of producer servicesand its influencing factors not only improves the theoretical system, but also provides datareference for analysis of the development law of producer services. This article can be divided into three parts. The first part introduces the researchbackground, technical route, literature review, and research objects. The second part usesindustrial cluster indicators (spatial Gini coefficient and location quotient) to measure thecurrent cluster degree of producer services industries in Guangdong. The third part analyzesthe influencing factors of clustering (in chapters IV and V). Chapter IV analyzes theinfluencing factors of clustering based on the “Diamond Model”(it comes from thecompetition advantage theory advanced by Porter). Chapter V verifies whether theinfluencing factors of Guangdong producer services cluster are consistent with the theoreticalanalysis in Chapter III.In conclusion:1) The general cluster degree of producer services in Guangdong is nothigh, but real estate, renting, business, and research services are clustered in Guangzhou andShenzhen.2) The scale of market demands has a significantly positive impact on producerservices in Guangdong. Human capital and competing relationship between peers have alower impact. Industry externality has an unobvious impact. Besides, the government has apositive impact on the clustering of transportation and information services, and has asignificantly negative impact on clustering of renting, business, and research services.
