Based On The Relationship Between Energy Consumption And Economic Growth Of Hunan Province Energy Industrial Structure Rationalization

Energy sources is a critical material foundation for sustainable social andeconomic development and an important strategic materials for economicdevelopment of Hunan province. Hunan Province has a shortage in oil, natural gasresources and new energy, so coal resource consumption occupied the main part for along time in Hunan. Hunan province has been carrying out energy saving andsustainable development strategy since the national11th Five-Year Plan wasimplemented. The regional energy consumption and demand grown rapidly, whilethe problems such as inadequate energy supply and mismatch of supply and demandinfluence economy development. Therefore，in order to meet the needs of economicdevelopment，the research on the relationship between energy consumption andeconomic growth and the further research on how to adjust and optimize the energyindustry structure have important implications for economy sustainable developmentand the construction of a harmonious society of Hunan. The paper aims to researchenergy industrial structure rationalization of Hunan province through analysingmutual relations of energy consumption and economic growth to realize the energyindustry structure optimization of Hunan.First of all, this article is the adjustment and the optimization of industry structurebased on the relationship of energy consumption and economic growth; at the sametime, it introduces the energy economic theory, energy consumption and therelationship between economic growth and industrial structure theory, and thisprovides the theoretical basis for the research.Secondly, the paper uses nonlinear cointegration theory,error correction modeland Granger causality test to analyze co-integration theory and error correctionmodel of relationship between energy consumption and economic growth of Hunan province and their relationship based on the present situation analysis of energysupply and demand, consumption and economic development of Hunan province, itcomes to the conclusion that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship andGranger causality relationship between the energy consumption and economicgrowth in Hunan province, therefore, optimizing and adjusting the energy industrystructure of Hunan province is an important measure to realize the coordinateddevelopment of the energy and economic.Finally, the paper builds industrial structure quantitative analysis model throughcollecting reliable data and selecting the data of energy industries (coal, oil, waterand electricity) from2002to2010years in Hunan province to find energy industrycoordination shortcomings and problems of Hunan province. It further explains theimportance of energy consumption and economy coordinating development andpoints out direction of the energy industrial structure rationalization in Hunanprovince. Policy suggestions are put out for energy industry structure adjustment andplanning of Hunan province.
