SDM Metallurgical Design Corporation is an engineering technology company with variable core technologies on energy conservation and pollution reduction, which could plan, design and overall-contract the steel projects at10million ton class. SDM has Class A Certificates of the metallurgical project design, architectural engineering design and non-metal mine design of building material industry. It also has the overall contracting certificate of engineering consultation, plan and project at the same class. It has Class B Certificates of gold, thermal power, municipal engineering, chemical engineering, nonferrous metallurgical engineering, protein recovery, environmental impacts assessment, water and soil conservation schemes compilation and engineering survey. It has other certificates of town planning and pressure vessel design. It has certificates and capabilities of consulting, planning and overall contracting the projects on metallurgy, mine, industrial and civil construction, electric power, building material, chemical engineering, urban and enterprise environmental impacts assessment, protein recovery, and water and soil conservation.In recently years, with the great development of the steel market at home and abroad, SDM has become a complicated design corporation which could operates the large-scale projects independently from the subsidiary company on servicing the steel enterprises. After the original capital accumulation, SDM needs to define its strategic goals and plans of development and implement them by stages and steps to achieve greater breakthrough and leap.Through references, materials and fieldwork, this paper analyzes the external and internal environment of SDM to make a blueprint for development strategies of the corporation in the future, combined with the management theories.Firstly, it briefly introduces the basis, necessity and methods of the research. Secondly, it analyzes the present situation, the external and internal environment of SDM with the first-hand data. Finally, it puts forward the plans and steps of the enterprise development.
