With the rapid development of knowledge-based economy, depending of economic globalization and accession to WTO, the competition among companies are becoming more and more complicated and severe. As the strategic resources, human resources is becoming the heart of the competition among companies and deciding the success or failure of the company among the intense competitions to a great degree. For the retailer, the procurement staffs are the center part of the whole human resources who plays an important role for companies to build the core competitiveness. To get sustained, raped and stable development, the retailer ought to adequately inspire the procurement staffs’ enthusiasm. However, Company Y doesn’t pay more attention to the construction of the incentive system and many problems are still existed. Thus this thesis will rebuild an effective incentive system for procurement staffs in company Y.Taking company Y for example, this thesis summarized the problems and weakness of present incentive system and concluded the feature of the procurement staffs in company Y based on the related theories of incentive. In order to obtain first-hand material, the author gave out questionnaires and interviewed with some procurement staffs in company Y. According to the survey results and the problems found in the research, this thesis improved the weakness of the original incentive system and rebuilt a new incentive system which is targeted and practical. The system includes two main parts:salary incentives and non-material incentives, including salary and welfare incentives, performance assess incentives, work incentives, promotion incentives, training incentives, Career Development Incentives, participation in management incentives, emotion care incentives and so on. The thesis rebuilds a new incentive system for company Y, which could fully meet the procurement staffs’ multilevel demand and adequately inspire their enthusiasm.The main findings of the thesis include the following content:according to the weakness of the original incentive system of company Y, this thesis makes the optimization in the new incentive system. On the point of salary, improves the enthusiasm of the procurement staffs by raising the salary of the original positions, increasing the skill wages and optimizing the seniority wage. On the point of welfare, improves the effectiveness of the welfare by improving the unofficial welfare in the original fixed-welfare programs, increasing self-welfare programs and assigning procurement staffs the right to choose the welfare. At the same time, this thesis stimulates the procurement staffs to work hard effectively around the company’s key business by improving the original performance assess system of company Y, and mobilizes the procurement staffs to improve their ability fully by increasing the quality assessment indicators. In addition, the new incentive system strengthens the non-material parts and enhances the spiritual incentive system which is the weak part of the original incentive system. In summary, this thesis is based on three parts:salary and welfare incentive system, performance assess incentive system and non-material incentive system. This thesis rebuilds a new incentive system for company Y though a series of optimal designs for the original system and meets the satisfaction of the current procurement staffs.The research on the incentive system optimization for supermarket procurement staffs is based on the incentive status of company Y, which makes the research more practical and targeted. The research is the summary of the author’s working experience and theoretic study. This thesis honestly hopes that it can be taken into practice effectively, mostly stimulates the enthusiasm of the procurement staffs. So it can promote the continuous development of company Y and promote personal growth for the procurement staffs and then come to the win-win states for both company Y and its procurement staffs. At the same time, we sincerely hope it can be useful and reproducible for other retail companies to encourage their procurement staff.
