Over the past decade since entered WTO, China’s banking sector reform and innovation has made remarkable achievements, the whole banking sector has undergone tremendous changes. With the full fill liberalization of the financial markets, foreign banks have entered into China, they and the emerging private banks have better advantages on scale, funding and management experiences, which brings great pressures to the big four state-owned banks. Many core talents flocking to foreign banks and other financial institutions increasingly from state-owned commercial banks exacerbated the brain drain, among which the drain from the account managers brings terrific losses to the state-owned banks. Therefore, to prevent brain drain, especially the loss of bank account manager to reduce the loss of the negative impact of state-owned commercial banks is imperative.From the perspective of human resource management, combined with domestic and international brain drain theory and research background to the ICBC branch of study, the loss of client manager of the bank as the research object, we study the current loss and the reason behind it of account managers in A branch. We take the survey of satisfaction of account managers, interviewed those left account managers and analyze the information collected, to deliver the corresponding solutions with all those analysis result based on the theories of brain drain and impact on the bank. It includes building up a sustainable account manager team, perfect the mechanism of performance valuation and motivation, set up client information management system and the warning system of losing account managers. All those solutions are recommended to not only solve the issue in A branch but also can enhance the core competitive ability of ICBC A branch in the market, and provide some references to other similar commercial banks in the same way.
