The Study Of Deng Xiaoping’s Income Distribution Thought

Accompanying with the great achievements China has made in economic development since its reform and opening up, various domestic contradictions have been highlighted, among which inequality of income stands out. The distribution of income is an issue closely related to the people’s interests, and is the key to decide whether the people are for or against the government. Only by reasonable wealth distribution and the continued improvement of people’s living level will our country continue with the national prosperity. Faced with the ever-widening gap between rich and poor, it will be of great significance to have a systemic research of the chief designer Deng Xiaoping’s thoughts, both theoretically and practically.In the process of leading our nation’s reform and opening up, Comrade Deng Xiaoping had always focused on protecting the economic interests of the people, stressing that poverty is not socialism. Starting with the breaking of the highly egalitarian distribution model of "eating Big Mess", he chose to employ material interests and the appropriate widening income gap to arouse the people’s enthusiasm in production. The labors’ productivities were improved, and some become rich first through legitimate work. By "first rich lead latter rich" policy, in addition to policies to help "later rich" people to overcome poverty and achieve prosperity, the country can finally realize the essence of socialism:common prosperity.As a staunch Marxist, Comrade Xiaoping inherited from Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao Zedong the ideological essence of the income distribution. At the same time, in view of the objective reality of our country, he summarized a scientific theory to guide our country to modernization:Deng Xiaoping’s income distribution thought. It consists of five parts:to fully ensure the interests of the people’s pursuit of material interests; adhere to the principle of distribution according to work, and firmly to break the egalitarianism; go to the "first rich lead latter rich" policy way which guided by "common prosperity" objective; in the field of income, adhere to combine the interests between the state, collectives and individuals; to be highly vigilant and prevent the emergence of wealth polarization.This paper will systemically introduce his thoughts, and analyze the current situation of the imbalance of income distribution in detail. The article is based on applying the thought about income distribution put forward by comrade Deng Xiaoping. The thought will guide our country to realize common prosperity. It also introduces some foreign successful experience with significance. We will overcome difficulties and realize the original intention of Comrade Deng Xiaoping "reform-and-opening-up" policy:to achieve common prosperity.
