Reconciliation Of Common Prosperity And The Gap Between Rich And Poor: To Deepen Reform Of The Income Distribution In China

The report of the18th national congress of the communist partyof China pointed out that the development of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics must adhere to the road of common prosperity. Wemust adhere to the basic economic system and the distributionsystem of socialism, adjust the distribution structure of nationalincome, increase the intensity of redistribution regulation, makeefforts to solve the problem of the relative large gap in incomedistribution, make the fruits of development be shared more fairlyand benefit all people, and go ahead steadily towards commonprosperity. More than30years of reform and opening up has madeChina’s economy achieve unprecedented development, however,the gap between rich and poor in China is expanding, bringing aseries of social contradictions and problems, which are contrary tothe goal of common prosperity, and also becomes factors ofdisharmony in the harmonious socialism society. Therefore, onlythrough seeking to resolve the contradiction between the two, canfulfill the achievement of a harmonious socialism society. There area lot of reasons causing contradictions; one of the main reasons is the problem of income distribution. So, I think that deepen thereform of income distribution is the road of reconciliation ofcommon prosperity and the gap between rich and poor.This paper begins with Marxism and the theory of Westernincome distribution, trying to explore the theoretical support.Western theory of income distribution includes classical,neo-classical and contemporary Western economics theory. Afteranalyzing the concept and value of the era of theoretical goal ofcommon prosperity, then use empirical methods to elaborateobjectively the problem of the widening gap between the rich andpoor. And analyze reasons from the systemic characters,institutional characters, policies and individual characters, anddescribe the impacts. And finally pointed out that to deepen thereform of income distribution is the road of reconciliation betweentheory and reality, and analyzed the specific path of incomedistribution reform from different angles.
