| Since China’s opening up and reform, more and more international companiesespecially world top500s have invested in China and set up business entities. Becausethe Chinese market has shown increasing development potential, more internationalcompanies have moved their production facilities to China. According to incompletestatistics, more than400ones among the world top500s have set up factories orsubsidiaries in China. The mid-to-high-ranking managerial staff of the internationalcompanies in China used to be designated by their headquarters when thesecompanies just entered the Chinese market. During the period, considering theoperation cost and with the improvement of the knowledge of the Chinese market,most mid-ranking managerial staff has been localized and some high-rankingmanagement positions are taken by Chinese citizens. Though these companies havegradually realized management localization, management communication problemscaused by the cultural difference between the Chinese and foreignmid-to-high-ranking managerial staff have also emerged.Such management communication problems caused by cultural difference areespecially noticeable in mid-to-big manufacturing enterprises. Mid-to-bigmanufacturing enterprises have a large number of workers whose competence levelsare quite different and the organizational structure is relatively complicated. If themanagement lacks the idea of management communication and the company lacksgood internal communication system, it is predictable that the company will encounterdifficulties and obstacles in the spread of ideas, systems and culture.More and more managers have realized the importance of the impact of loweringcultural difference on the company, the impact of managing and controllinginformation, and the impact of reducing information asymmetry. Meanwhile, moremanagers have realized that the essence and core of business management ismanagement communication, which is also a difficult part in management. Manymid-sized and big international companies do not attach enough importance tomanagement communication or the internal communication mode of the company issimple and not systematic. Management communication problem is universal. Theinsufficiency, mistake and absence of management communication makes the company lack management and control over information and involve in too muchnegative or false news, affecting the coherence of the company and the confidence ofthe staff. It makes information communication of the company blocked and the policyof the company unable to be spread and more difficult to be carried out. It makes theemployees unable to accept the company culture wholeheartedly, causing the goalsand paces of the employees and the company inconsistent. All of these problems willput the company into difficulties in realizing its goals and perspectives eventually,highly waste the limited HR resources of the company, make the company incoherentinternally, lower team spirit, affect the daily operation of the company, or evendestroy the company.Effective management communication plays various roles in management. Ithelps the company make correct decision, helps employees improve theircoordination and activeness at work, helps in creating a coordinated atmospherewithin the organization, helps the managers motivate their subordinates, and helps increating and improving the company spirit and the value of the brand. Effectivemanagement communication is necessary for the sustainable development ofbusinesses. Especially, as the changes in the internal and external environment ofbusinesses have been increasingly complicated and fast nowadays, managementcommunication is so important in making plans, organizing work, managing humanresources, coordinating between departments, and communicating with externalparties.Though most managers begin to realize the importance of communication, thecommunication condition is still not optimistic. There are also a deal of problems.This thesis chooses Xizi Otis Elevator Co., Ltd(XOEC), a large joint venture, as anexample to analyze eight elements during communication process and seven negativefactors which affects the effective communication. Besides, the article also analyzespatterns and system of management communication in modern enterprises thoughapplying the principles and theories of management communication. The article alsotakes it as parameter that the current patterns and system of managementcommunication of XOEC to make an analysis of impediment factors of managementcommunication in modern enterprises, put forward the ideas about how to improvemanagement communication and build patterns and system of enterprise managementcommunication, which will ensure it operate effectively. The analysis is also basedon the deep research of the enterprises’ own characters, classification of staffs,communication patterns and system. Only by effective communication can acorporate promote its performance and reach its own vision better. |
