By the end of2010, China had approved more than650,000of foreign-invested enterprises and has cumulatively attracted nearly one trillion dollars of foreign investment. Many multinational companies are doing business in China, and compared with local employees, they pay more attention to expatriates (usually Westerners) on how they can work smoothly in a cross-culture environment in China. Chinese employees sometimes are ignored on adaption to an intercultural environment. Earlier studies in China on this topic are from a macro level-the enterprises visual angle-to see how to solve culture shock and conduct cross-cultural management.Cultural Intelligence (CQ or CI) is hot topic from the individual level, employees’visual to study on cross-cultural management effectiveness. The reach on effect factors of CQ is still relatively preliminary. Most of the current reaches are focus on the correlation between CQ as an independent variable and other variables, the impact of CQ for short. Through the investigation of two companies, the dissertation, put CQ as an independent variable, and try to find the factors that affect it. In this process, we also studied corporate cultural as a background factors. We compared the difference of the two companies’culture and average CQ to check if corporate culture has certain impact on employees’CQ.According to theoretical results, some theoretical models and hypotheses, this study try to find the correlation between CQ and employees’ demographic factors, personal work and life experience, and made the following conclusions:Using SPSS13.0descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis to verify the hypotheses put forward, we found CQ showed a significant correlation with foreign language proficiency, overseas education experience, overseas working experience, and training participation. We compared the two corporate culture and CQ data, proposed a new hypothesis:the degree of freedom of an organization has positive correlation between CQ.According to the analysis results, the paper also contains analysis of the lack of this research, the prospects for future study of the CQ and some countermeasures and suggestions for multinational human resource management.
