With the advent of the knowledge economy, factors of production are constantly undergoing change. Knowledge has become an important input factor in economic development, playing increasingly prominent role. Economic and social development depends on knowledge, innovation and technological change. At the same time, people’s behavior with the arrival of the knowledge-based economy in the event of changes. Knowledge workers are becoming a decisive competitive advantage under the strong demand for society capital.There are a large number of knowledge workers in China’s colleges and universities for knowledge organizations. University teachers are a typical knowledge workers. They have a higher level of qualifications,expertise and strong learning ability and knowledge of the knowledge innovation capability. They are important human resources in universities, and determine the personnel training of university quality scientific research level and the level of social services. Participate in international competition in China as a great power, higher education as the highest level of education is responsible for the mission to achieve the power of education to detennine the core technology in the international competitive position. This is the key to our country from a country of rich human resource to one with strong talent resource. Therefore, the job satisfaction of university teachers not only related to the competitiveness of the universities, related to personnel training quality as well as the country’s overall competitiveness.This study attempts to university teachers as the knowledge workers groups. This study is based on the existing literature on the content and theoretical basis of the job satisfaction of university teachers, summarized the factors affecting job satisfaction. In the empirical research process, we use semi-structured interviews with a full understanding of the university teachers’ job satisfaction status and the main factors affecting. On the basis of the interviews,we put "job satisfaction of university teachers" to the research core and design scale and forecast questionnaire by myself.After questionnaire pre-implementation and amendment, formal questionnaire named The Job Satisfaction of University Teachers Questionnaire was implemented.This study randomly selected300university teachers joining the survey.Study use SPSS13.0software on empirical data processing and analysis test. Descriptive statistical analysis and the study variables were analyzed from differences in personal characteristics on job satisfaction. Finally, targete countermeasures and suggestions.In this paper consists of six chapters. The first chapter described the background factors and significance of the question, describes the research methods used。The second chapter collect and analysis relevant literature, including the status of the job satisfaction connotation, theoretical basis as well as domestic and foreign research. The third chapter introduces the measurement scale of the design and questionnaire pre-implementation process. The fourth chapter introduced formal questionnaire survey implementation and data analysis and test. Suggestions to improve job satisfaction for the empirical results in Chapter fifth. The final chapter on conclusions were summed up, and study limitations and future research directions were prospected.
