Living in a society that is teemed with competition and challenges, teachers in university are also under tremendous psychological pressure, and their psychological health problems are becoming increasingly apparent. The investigation and study indicate that the present situation of the university teachers’psychological health is unoptimistic, but many universities in our country generally lack the psychological healthy management and service to teachers, therefore, it becomes extremely urgent and necessary to discuss how to guarantee the university teachers’ psychological health. As an effective guarantee mechanism in the west countries, the employee assistance program is a systematic, the long-term aid and a welfare plan that is set up for its staff by the organization, which aims to help solve the staff and family member’s psychology and behavior problems through providing the specialized psychological instruction, training and consultation to the staff and their family members by the specialists. Thus, the integrated implementation and management system of the employee assistance program may make up the deficiency in the management of the teachers’psychological health problems in the university to a certain extent. The result of a investigation on the teachers of a key university in Hunan Province shows that the university teachers are in favor of the service of the employee assistance program, and the service that they need with more desire are medical health care service and the aids on occupation development. Meanwhile, there is a high feasibility in the implemention of the employee assistance program in the university. The attention that is paid by the university managers to the importance of teachers’mental health, the teachers’knowledge, the exsiting resourses of psychological health management in the university and the successful operation of the employee assistance program in companies and organizations all establish a foundation for the implementation of the employee assistance program in universities. To implement this program in universities, the labour union which leading other departments can consider to cooperate with the external staff, which conforms the actual situations of universities better. Thus, the writer proposes the idea of implementing the employee assistance program in the university based on the above, and imitate the process of implementing the program in the university, including determine implementation mode, implement the establishment of institutions and departments of the responsibilities and tasks, relevant knowledge propaganda and promotion, to develop the questionnaire survey, screening and determine implementation content, aid service implementation, implementation effect evaluation and feedback, In the implementation of the program has been clearly proposed various departments’responsibility and the duty explicitly, in every aspect of the implementation proposed some matters needing attention.
