With the rapid development of the modern large-scale harbor and its function of thediversity requirements have been significantly improved. In particular, this feature is reflectedin the factor of the harbor’s supporting facilities, such as highway, railway, the majority of thesupply hub, shipyard. Order to fully improve the capacity of harbor services, to improve anddevelopment the effectiveness of hub port, so carrying out the study of the shipyard about therelated problems in building and planning jobs is a meaningful thing.In this paper, the author applies the theory and technology of virtual manufacturing asthe guiding ideology, selects the manufacturing resource in shipyards for the study, andfocuses on the issues related to about both the design of shipyard and production operation forresearching. Based on full studying of the modern shipbuilding mode, to tease out the basiccharacteristics of modern shipyard, summarize the requirement analysis of manufacturingresource in shipyard. With the actual research, learning from the theory of modeling ofmanufacturing resources in the shipyard, and then establishing a complete and unifiedresource information model. Selecting several types of resources which take up a largeproportion in shipyard building and investment, such as the steel material yard, dockyard,workshop and devices. analysis their production capacity related issues: the problem of thebest size of the steel material yard, the relation of both the ship and the dockyard and so on, tobuild their own simulation models for the related researches. Based on the researches aboveon, the study want to achieve the vision of digital simulation shipyard, establishing thedatabase model of researching object.Researching the study of the shipyard as the facilities in the modern large-scale harbor,the results of the study can summarize three factors: The first, learning from the model ofmanufacturing resources for clarifying the topological relationship and properties informationabout the shipyard. Secondly, from modeling of the important manufacturing resources, toprovide some solution in planning and analyzing for both the shipyard construction and theproduction run. In addition, to achieve a comprehensive virtual simulation of laid data base ofsupport.
