It is an objective reality that regional development is a inbalanced phenomenonin any region or country. With30years’ strong development of the Reform andOpening up, Guangdong contributes nearly12percent of the national total economy,which is1.85percent of Chinese land area. But Guangdong’s fertile regionconcentrates in the Pearl River Delta and the Special Economic Zones. It is stillweak that the total economic strength about eastern, western and northernregions,whose area and population is85percent of Guangdong′s, but the total GDPis less than20percent. So, eastern, western and northern regions belong to“underdeveloped areas” of Guangdong. At present, the gap between the Pearl RiverDelta and eastern, western and northern regions is not narrowing, but expanding.And some economic and social development data gaps are shocking. As a result, Thestudy of how to enhance the development force of underdeveloped areas ofGuangdong, achieving the common prosperity between the Pearl River Delta andeastern, western and northern regions have great important practical significance.The paper will focus on the development force in “underdeveloped areas” ofGuangdong. In Macro level, it evaluates the development force of underdevelopedareas of Guangdong adopting the factor analysis method, then, comparing thedevelopment force of the Pearl River Delta and eastern, western, northern regions; InMicro level, it compares and analyzes the driving forces of economic growth usingpanel data models, such as consumption, investment and net export in the Pearl RiverDelta and eastern, western, northern regions.
