So we need innovation theory,this paper discusses functions of city. in this background, the paper carried out thestudy of city innovation function, to explore the city innovation form, size andperformance, and in Guangzhou and Shenzhen city innovation function of a briefcomparative analysis.Paper first analyzes the function of city innovation, has been clear about thefunctional factors of the formation of city innovation, urban innovation of theconcept of function, form, characteristics and so on; And then put forward theevaluation system of city innovation function and then use level analysis method tocalculate the weights of the index system; And then to Guangzhou and Shenzhen cityinnovation function to do the evaluation and comparison and concludes that theinfluence factors of Guangzhou and Shenzhen city innovation function, such asgovernment, education, science and technology, etc. With vice city at or above theprovincial level then the data were analyzed in Guangzhou and Shenzhen cityinnovation function status in the whole country; Finally uses the data envelopmentanalysis method to establish indicators of body functions of Guangzhou andShenzhen city innovation performance are analyzed, The results show that theinvestment of Shenzhen high output, namely the performance of Shenzhen cityinnovation function is better than that of Guangzhou.
