In the new period,as the rapid development of economic globalizationand science and technology, each country has a new reform in thedevelopment process of foreign trade. At present, all the countries in theworld are developing the tertiary industry vigorously, and the proportionof tertiary industry in the national economy in these countries are rising. The status of goods trade in world economy is facing with the challengesof new service trade which plays an important role in the present stage ofeconomic development. Since the reform and opening-up policy in1970s,our country also have made some new adjustment on the relationshipbetween services trade and goods trade, and at present, many policieshave tilted to the service trade. However, China’s trade in services startslater than other country, as well as its foundation is poorer, there are stillsignificant limitations in the development process. It will affect the futureof our country’s economic development directly, if we cannot handle thedevelopment of trade in services correctly. At first, this paper makes a brief description on the developmentprocess and characteristics of China’s foreign trade in services and tradein goods. Through the analysis, we find that compare with the developedcountry, our country’s service trade starts later, its foundation is poor, andthe structure is not the optimal feature. On the other hand, the goods tradeis mature relatively, but there are still some shortcomings. We also find that the interaction between the development process of these two aspectsis not very obvious, and we cannot use their own comparative advantagesto promote the other party. According to the two existing relationshipsand learning from other countries’ development character-istics, Chinashould introduce some relevant policy recommendations, and integrat theadvantages of the two parts further, to promote the rapid economicdevelopment in china better. In the next part, this paper makes an empirical analysis to verificate therelationship of the import and export volume between China’s servicestrade and goods trade, and it confirms the front view. The result showsthat there is very obvious correlation. This shows that there is a strongco-ordination and complementarity between China’s services trade andgoods trade. China’s goods trade plays a big role on promoting thedevelopment of service trade, and obviously, to some extent, service tradeis also affected the development of trade in goods. However, as China’spresent situation, this promoting role is not so obvious. This is because ofthe characteristics of our country current trade in services. Then, this article analyse the internal structure of the services tradeand goods trade, and divided the service trade into traditional and modernones. The result shows that the stimulative effect which China’s modernservice trade on goods trade is more obvious, and the development ofcurrent modern service trade is still very slow. Especially after the2008 financial crisis, China’s modern service trade has been influenced heavily. Finally, according to the above analysis, we put forward somesuggestions for China’s services trade and goods trade. At present, ourcountry should use the development of trade in goods to promote thedevelopment of trade in services, especially the modern service trade. Inthe development of service trade and promote the better and fasterdevelopment of trade in goods, only to both and organic union, harmonious development, in order to improve our comprehensive tradestrength.
