Project management is a hot topic in global research today, and it has been widelyused in the automotive industry. With great growth of Chinese automobiles’ productionand sales, the constant launch of the car models, the market competition is becomingincreasingly fierce, which means the requirements for project quality management aremore and more stringent. Comparing project management levels of the domesticautomobile parts enterprises with that of foreign enterprises, we find there are large gapsin this area apparently. The quality problems frequently occur in the project developmentprocess, and even lead to the failure of the project. Therefore, the project qualitymanagement study of automobile parts enterprises has a very important practicalsignificance for relevant domestic enterprises.Based on the Audi B8buckle project practice, the project management and qualitymanagement are integrated effectively. In the process of project development, the projectquality management theory and design for six sigma are applied. Thus, the detailed projectquality management process is studied. The project schedule and project organizationstructure are planned. This project quality management is divided into four stagesaccording to company project management process, namely the program approval, designvalidation, launch readiness and post launch review. The quality target of the project isdefined. The design quality of product and process is planned by quality tools and isvalidated per test. The verification process capability, measurement system analysis of keycharacteristics and2days production audit are completed. Control charts is applied tomonitor quality and8D(8Disciplines) methods is used to solve quality problem. Thequality data is counted and the result of the project quality target is evaluated. Based onthe Six Sigma design process IDDOV (Identify, Define, Develop, Optimize, Verify), thequality improvement process of Audi B8buckle reminded device is studied.
