Research On The Impact Of Network Density And Centrality On Team Innovation Performance

Network Density and Centrality have an important impact on Team InnovationPerformance, which mean the members’ interaction and the central tendency of R&DTeam Network. With the continuous development of Knowledge Economy, the Enterprisehas integrated innovative resources to improve Team Innovation Performance throughenhancing R&D Team Network, including Collaboration Network, Emotion Networkand Trust Network. However, there are some problems in improving the network structure,enhance team innovation performance for our country’s R&D Team, such as networkrelationships is not smooth, etc. which severely restricts Team Innovation Performance.Base on the international research results, taking Hubei’s enterprises as sample, thispaper researches on the impact of Network Density and Centrality on Team InnovationPerformance. This paper reaches the following conclusions. The network density of R&D team’s Collaboration Network, Emotion Network and Trust Network has a positiveinfluence on Team Innovation Performance. High degree of interaction of R&D team’sCollaboration Network, Emotion Network and Trust Network will help to enhance TeamInnovation Performance through constituting mechanisms of knowledge transfer andknowledge sharing, emotional communication. The network centrality of R&D team’sCollaboration Network and Emotion Network is negatively correlated with TeamInnovation Performance. The high network centrality of R&D team’s CollaborationNetwork and Emotion Network reduces Team Innovation Performance, which is not likelyto lead to significant teamwork, knowledge transfer and sharing, resulting in the teamunnecessary barriers and differences. The network centrality of R&D team’s TrustNetwork has a positive influence on Team Innovation Performance. The high R&Dteam’s Trust Network Centrality helps to reduce the team myth, to grasp the major trendsand the main direction of the technological innovation, which enhances Team InnovationPerformance.
