Traditional statistical models only focus on the correlations between number, forexample one element correlation analysis and multiple correlation analysis; and payattention to the contact of two-dimensional space, such as geographic informationsystem in the spatial analysis and spatial overlay analysis. It is difficult to achieve thecombination of qualitative and quantitative, combine graphics and data on theinbound tourism research. It also can t explain the inherent connection of spatialdistribution differences between tourism and tourist behavior and is unable to explainthe similarity among different areas. Therefore, this paper adopts the method ofspatial autocorrelation to analysis spatial pattern of inbound tourism in ShandongProvince. Through analysis of spatial autocorrelation of inbound tourism number andincome in each city, it not only can reveal spatial distribution of tourist behavior, butalso can cleanly demonstrate spatial relationship of the whole study area and each unitin this area that is about inbound tourism number and foreign income. Based on theinbound tourism spatial pattern analysis, it explores the influence factors to spatialpattern, then formulates the corresponding optimization strategy according to thefactors. This article is divided six parts which carries on the elaboration. The first part is the introduction. It mainly elaborates the background, content, significance, method and technical route of the research and the data sources. The second part is theory basis. First, it states the domestic and foreign tourismspatial pattern, attempts researching spatial pattern from spa tial economics view; thenexplains the concepts about spatial pattern etc. and introduces the method of spatialautocorrelation in detail; The last, it elaborates the relevant theory used in this paper. The third part is temporal and spatial differences of inbound tourism number andincome in Shandong Province. Based on the global spatial and local spatialautocorrelation of inbound tourism number and income analysis, the results of itshows that in recent ten years the spatial pattern of inbound tourism in western areacity has been in the low value accumulation region and changes a bit annually, thehigh value accumulation area is concentrated in the east coastal cities, the low valuediscrete regions is the central cities which more locates near coastal c ities, the spatial pattern of Qingdao city inbound tourism is in discrete high value regions evidently. The fourth part is the influencing factor to the temporal and spatial differences ofinbound tourism. From three aspects, first, form the perspective o f distribution oftourism resources, unbalanced distribution of resources is one of the factors thatinfluence the spatial pattern; Secondly, from the reception capacity to analysis, whichincludes tourism hotel and the tourism traffic ability, the ability of reception affectsthe bearing force to inbound tourists number in city; Finally, from the structure oftourists to analysis, the differences of inbound tourists number is related to thepreference of inbound tourists demand in each city. The fifth part is the optimization strategy for the development of inboundtourism in Shandong Province. Focusing on the influence factors explored in thefourth part, it put forward the corresponding optimization strategy. First of all, thecooperation and development strategy for regional tourism reduces the unbalancedistribution of spatial pattern because of tourism resources; Secondly, improvingsupport system including the improvement of infrastructure and strengthen of tourismtalents training and other aspects; Finally, through establishing characteristic brand oftourism and the optimization of tourism spatial structure, guiding preference ofinbound tourists. The sixth part is the conclusion and prospect of this paper. Summarize the mainconclusion, difficulties, problems and prospects of the research.
