| ODM(Original Design Manufacturer) is the industry which has beendeveloped gradually since the end of last century. It’s the product of theeconomic globalization and the trend of outsourcing. Along with the deepeningof opening and reform, more and more brand manufacturer outsources projectsto China to take advantage of cheaper labor and resources. To meet the more andmore complicated requirement on the product and services, project managementis the only approach and is becoming the core competence for the ODMenterprise. How to assess the project management and therefore how to improvethe capability of project management is the important task for ODM company.The study is based on the environment of ZY company. Referring to theprocesses of project management defined by PMI and the international excellentproject management assessment model, it analyzes the practice of projectmanagement in ZY company, and calculates the weight of nine principles in themodel by using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method, builds the referencepoints belongs to different principles and assign proper values to these referencepoints, raises the assessment model which could be applied to similar ODM industry. Apply the assessment model into the practice in ZY company, andfeedback collected from the practice helps to revise and improve the assessmentmodel and improve the capability level of project management as well..The study of this dissertation is mainly focus on:1. Identify the keyprocesses in project management;2. Define the weight of nine principles byusing AHP;3. Create reference points for the key processes/principles with brianstorm method;4. Embed the reference points into the nine principles, and comeout the assessment model suitable for ZY company;5. Discuss on theassessment result and feedback to project managers, tracking the scores todemonstrate the assessment model has somehow promoted the level ofmanagement, and helpful on the improvement of project managementenvironment. |
