Based on rich tourism resources, Jiaxing is one of the famous touristdestinations in the Yangtze River Delta region. However, with thecontinuous development in the tourism industry in recent years, it is vitalto integrate and develop the tourist resources. There are many similarscenic spots with rivers and lakes around Yangtze River, so Jiaxing faceschallenges to create its own characteristics. The paper focuses on all theabove issues.Based on the analysis of the existing humanistic and culturalresources in Jiaxing as well as the current situation of the tourismindustry in the form of the questionnaire, the paper analyzes thedevelopment trend of the characteristic cultural tourism in Jiaxing.Jiaxing has abundant tourism resources and development conditions, butdoesn t exploit them well. For example, Jiaxing should take fulladvantages to develop tourist of the regions with rivers and lakes, attractpeople s interesting to visit ancient towns and historic buildings here aswell as appreciate the local customs. This thesis puts forward somestrategies to create unique cultural features of Jiaxing tourism: firstimprove the understanding and clear the guiding idea; second make plansand take measures to develop the potential; third issue souvenirs to meetthe needs of tourist market; forth strengthen the internal and external cooperation and highlight the regional characteristics; last improve themanagement ability of cultural tourism.
