The Planning Study For The Logistics Transformation Project Of Shuangqiao Railway Freight Station

In the context of macro-control of national economy, railways serve as critical infrastructure for national economic development and provide strong transportation support for social development, thus known as the main artery of the national economy. Within railway services, freight transportation not only delivers strategic material for the nation, but also transports goods that are necessary for social production and social life. With the social and economic development, the logistics industry is also rapidly moving into a modern era. Traditional railway freight stations are lagging behind the standards of modern logistics, due to its obsolete equipment and simple operation mode. As they fail to meet the high level and diverse requirements of passenger service, they are constraining the development of railway cargo transport station. Therefore, it is necessary to study and explore the transformation from railway goods yard to modern logistics stations.Based on the background information, this paper researches into a planning study on logistics transformation project of the Shuangqiao freight railway station, Beijing Railway Administration, and analyzes and evaluates its economic feasibility as well. The paper briefly introduces the current researches on transformation from railway goods yard to modern logistics stations, domestic and abroad. With the help of SWOT analysis, the paper explains the external environment, threats, superiority and problems of logistics transformation of Shuangqiao freight yard, and suggest some methods on strategy choosing. Then, the transformation methods, business adjustment, and orientation of transformation of Shuangqiao freight yard are discussed in details. Finally, based on the preliminary financial evaluation of the project planning, determine the project economic feasibility finally. In the end, the project uncertainty analysis, ensure project development risks are controllable.This paper discusses the methods to realize logistics transformation of railway freight yard on the basis of current resources, through redefining its role on market, adjusting market orientation, strengthening competition ability of railway freight transport product, and increasing service quality. This paper also aims to provide advices for development of the modern logistics transportation of similar railway freight yards.
