The social capital and the poverty both are the concepts with extremely rich connotation,so far, the academic circles has not still reached the consensus of opinion to these two concepts concrete limits,but the academic circles have been concerned about this social capital and poverty of these two concepts. Long-term existence of poverty as a social phenomenon, not only poor individuals want decisive issue, but also countries in the world need to be solved. For helping the poor to accumulate social capital and to achieve poverty alleviation,we have a variety of poverty-oriented poverty reduction strategies. China has experienced a variety of poverty, for example, material poverty, the poverty of human capital and the social capital of poverty, so we have taken to anti-poverty policies and human capital, physical capital accumulation anti-poverty policy. Both policies have been unable to meet the social development, you need to re-examine the anti-poverty strategy. This is good news for the reduction of poverty, People are increasingly concerned about the positive effects of social capital. From the perspective of social capital to study the path of poverty reduction policy options is of great significance, for the coordination of social stability and economic and social development.In this paper, the questionnaire survey method to investigate the current state of social capital in rural areas, in a small area to explore the link between social capital and poverty. Use of literature of the sort of pro-poor policies and social capital theory, and provide theoretical support for the analysis of the article. The use of comparative analysis, analysis of the three levels of social capital for poverty reduction possibilities.The framework can be divided into five chapters:the first chapter is introduction, including the theme’s origin, value and research’s frame, methods. The second chapter is carding and analyzing foreign and domestic relative researches, this part explores fruits and drawbacks of the subject, holding the function of reference and innovation. The third chapter is China’s rural poverty reduction path and effect analysis.The fourth chapter is data analysis and result discussion. Through questionnaires and interviews with50farmers in Y Village, from the demographic characteristics of farmers’ stock of social capital and poverty. Explain the reasons for the use of various variables of demographic characteristics, and specific analysis. In the fifth, this part gives strategies to Increase social capital. Conclusion summarizes the research results of the whole text.
