Food safety problems emerged one by one in recent years. How to providefood security for the public became a duty-bound for the government. Thecurrent focus of the work of government departments is researching, developingscientific and effective regulatory regime or regulatory system. The quantifiedand classified management model for food safety with the main characteristicsas sharing the responsibility for the concept, quantifying and classifying theadministrative object, regulating in dynamic, making public for theadministrative information, and it is a trend with international administrativemodel for food safety.Due to various objective reasons, the early practicalexperience of the quantified and classified management model came from thepractice of using the quantified and classified management system in thecatering industry for the hygienic supervision sector.This paper sum up the concept and the main characteristics of thequantified and classified model, analyzed the feasibility for applying in theproductive branch from the laws(regulations) and the application, combinedwith the application of quantified and classified model by the qualitysupervision department of Guangzhou, and analyzed the effectiveness anddeficiencies. The study show it is feasibility that applying quantified andclassified model in the productive branch, it had make a obvious function inpromoting the self-discipline of food company, improving the performance ofadministrative supervision, and making public for the administrative information.To perfect the quantified and classified model for food safety, it should becarried out more scientific in screening the score projects, improved the practicaloperation of the score sheet, and expand the way for making public for theadministrative information.
