Dongying City Oil Equipment Manufacturing Industry Cluster Development Research

Industrial cluster means the gather of enterprises in the same zone in the specific regi-on. It is a producing organization mode or enterprise system that all enterprises are su-pported by some organization and cooperate and compete to each other. Industrial clus-ter works as the intermediate organization which also is a space industry organizationbased on specialization with network characteristics. Chinese industrial cluster starts lat-e and only developed less than15years. Although compared with the western develo-ped countries, the effect of the domestic industrial cluster in promoting the economicgrowth is not significant, it has played a more and more important role for the growt-h of Chinese economy. This dissertation takes the industrial cluster of petroleum equipment manufacturing industry in Dongying city as an example and fully analyses its de-velopment characteristic, achievement, problems and ways to solve them.According to the origin analysis of advantages of the industrial cluster, using thecombination of development of the industrial cluster of the petroleum equipment manufacturers in other countries and the present situation of the development of domesticformed industrial cluster of petroleum equipment manufacturers, the dissertation analyse-s the problems of the developing of the industrial cluster of petroleum equipment manufacturers in the city of Dongying. There are six chapters in this article. The articleexplains through three parts. The first part reviews the related documents and analysesthe development of industrial cluster from the perspective of Economics, put forwardthe research methods, and explains the importance of the role of the government in t-he development of industrial cluster specifically，such as industry cluster competition t-heory of Porter, SWOT theory of Weiluhrich, formed theory of industry cluster of We-ber, competition advantage theory of Marshall.The second part sketches the origin, the characteristic, the development status and theproblems appeared in the developing process of industrial cluster of Dongying petroleumequipment manufacturers, such as the industry cluster had been formed and its scope is biggerand bigger, a lot of strong enterprises and technology research institute and human resourcesin the cluster, promoted local economy. It also analyses the cause of the problems, such as theshort time of the centralize guidance and lack of experience for Dongying government,insufficient core-competitiveness, lower participation of private capital, easily influenced bythe international politics and economy.Through the comparison to the developed countries, such as Houston in USA, Calgary inCanada and other domestic formed petroleum equipment manufacturers industrial clusters, such as Daqing, Panjin, Bohai petroleum equipment manufacturing base, linking up thecharacteristic of the development of Dongying, the third part puts forward the detailed waysand specific solution methods for further good development of Dongying petroleumequipment manufacturers industrial cluster. It also supplies ideas to the Dongying government,such as deepening reform and opening up, developing new space, strengthening innovation ofscience and technology, enhancing core competitiveness and how to lead folk resources topetroleum equipment manufacturing industry and so on.The basic theories and advices can be used as references to construct and accelerate thedevelopment of industrial cluster of petroleum equipment manufacturing industry inDongying city.
