Despite rapid change of the market economy pattern, monopoly enterprises hold the exclusive advantages against those which are not monopolistic, as the monopoly enterprises keep benefiting from the state’s preferential policy, and occupy a large quantity of public resources. In the time when2G traditional voice communication technology dominated the market, China Mobile won the leading position under the oligarch monopolization market, depending on its stable voice quality, full range of network coverage and support, as well as good customer service. However, with the development of the global telecommunication industry, communication no longer means only single voice call, yet. gradually evolved towards the transmission of multimedia data. Hence, hardly can the traditional voice call service meet the growing demand of multimedia needs.3G technology, with greater compatibility and capability, makes it the best alternative to realize the mobile broadband promise. This paper started with reviewing the history of China’s telecommunication industry by highlighting the leading position of China Mobile in the oligopoly market, and used the KSFs and Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model to analyze the change of telecommunication industry with the emerge of new3G competitive environment, and eventually introduced the Mixed Profit Chasing Model, an optimized profit chasing model, by means of establishing the SWOT model to identify the advantages and disadvantages of China Mobile in such new competitive environment. The paper also came up with optimized recommendations to traditional telecommunication industry, and the development of new products or new business based on3G technology, and thus resulted in the continuously prosperous of China Mobile in the era of3G, and even4G era.
