The rapid development of international trade fully indicates our country’scomparative advantage in the international market. As a big country with a largemount of population, our country’s labor endowment is rich, and foreign trading hasalways been an important way to ease China’s employment pressure. However, withthe rise of the labor cost and the fierce international competition, the contradictionbetween trade structure and labor structure is gradually intense, which prevents thedevelopment of our economy. The import and export of industrial products affect notonly the employment of certain industrial directly, but also the employment of relatedindustry by affecting the intermediate goods production. The direct and indirectemployment make up the complete employment effect. How strong is the completeemployment effect of industrial products import and export trade? Betweenlabor-intensive industries and capital-intensive industries, the complete employmenteffect of which can bring comparative advantage in promoting employment? What’rethe factors that restricting the amount of complete employment in the import andexport trade? This paper studies this issue.This article is based on consulting pertinent literature of domestic and abroad.Firstly, it theoretically analyses the employment influence of international trade,especially from the aspects of comparative advantage theory、factor endowmenttheory、Keynes international trade theory and protect trade theory. Secondly, using theinput-output method to precisely calculate complete employment quantity embodiedin the export and import trade. Lastly, using personal capital stock to divide industriesinto resource、nature、capital and labor industries, then researching differentdepartment’s complete employment quantity and posing advises correspondingly.The conclusions got from theoretical research and empirical analyses in thispaper are as following:(1) Technology progress makes direct and completeemployment coefficient fall. The progress of technology and the invention ofdevices make human being replaced by machines;(2)Net export trade’s completeemployment effect is positive;(3)In the aspect of export trade, labor industries’ exporttrade are good for domestic employment, capital industries’ export trade are bad fordomestic employment;(4) In the aspect of import trade, labor industries’ export tradeare good for domestic employment, capital industries’ export trade are bad fordomestic employment;(5) In the aspect of net export trade, trade structure and tradescale factors are good for domestic employment, technology progress is bad fordomestic employment.Through the analysis and research of the preceding, this article pertinently bringforward such methods and measures which can increase the quantity of employmentin net export trade as: increasing capital and technology industries’ export; developingcapital industries matching with labor industries; increasing labor industries’ netexport and enhancing resource and nature industries’ import; augmenting humancapital invest, reinforce technology innovation.
