In order to adapt to theenvironment of the development, the governments at all levels and relevantdepartments have done a lot of work. Because of the tourism developmentlevel in Jilin is relatively backward, Jilin provincial government have done morework. To change the current backwardness in Jilin, the government put a lot ofmanpower, material resources and financial resources into the tourism-relatedindustries in recent years.With the improvement of people’s living standards, people’s requirementshave transformed from tourism-related facilities to service. The servicerequirements from people continue to rise, and there are many new problemsin service around the country. Particularly in our province, the old problemshave not solved then the new problems have emerged. The deficiencies andshortcomings on tour guide service are particularly evident accroding to theseproblems. To improve these shortcomings, we have done positive adjustmentson the management models for the tour. And these management modes arereflected from the tour guide occupational status: tour guide employees lack,low occupational social acceptance, reasonable power and interests ofemployees can not be guaranteed, no upgrade training, increasing costsbecause of the unhealthy competition, etc. Present situation of tour guideoccupation led to the lack of safety in work, working pressure, and lowerquality of service. These adverse factors led to an increase of complaintsagainst the tour guide service. So that restrict the development of the tourismindustry in our province, and affect the reputation of the tourism industry in JilinProvince. Therefore, the improvement of the treatment of tour guide is sourgent in our provence. However, the improvement of the treatment dependson perfecting our tour guide management mode. The government should use its authority to disseminate tour guide occupation, formulate rules andregulations, safeguard the legitimate rights of tour guide, strengthen thetourism industry supervision system to protect the tourism market norms.Enterprises should encourage travel agencies to manage the tour guides inmulti-mode based on their own business situation and make training programsand content according to business development needs. The tour guide servicecenter should enhance service awareness, perfect information, update on timeand provide advocacy services for guides. In short, to protect the developmentof the tourism industry fundamentally and contribute to the economy in JilinProvince, we should improve the guides’ treatment and perfect themanagement mode.
