In the21century, the market competition becomes more and more explosive,corporate profit gets less and less, following with the economical globalization trend, itbecomes profit growth points for the further development of corporate to explore low costcountries resource. In order to survive in the market, the enterprises are forced to focuson the cost reduction. And the control of the purchase cost is the fundamental guarantee toincrease capability of profit making, thus enhance the competitiveness. Under theenvironment of global supply chain, how to enhance the purchasing management, avoidany potential risk of supply chain breaks, reduce purchasing cost directly or indirectly, willbe the very important and meaningful topic to make sure the sustained profit increase.In order to get alignment with global disposition of raw material and purchasinglocalization and regionalization, to better perform of the supply chain purchasing activitieswithin Asia Pacific region, it is the main target of Asia Pacific region purchasingdepartment, that to develop qualify supplier, look for alternative local resource to reducecost, manage suppliers effectively in order to optimize supply chain, mitigate potentialsupply chain risk, and make sure maximum profit for corporate and stockholders, enhancecorporate competitive power. This thesis studies purchasing strategy, supplier evaluationand management of EL Asia Pacific Purchasing department, analysis the strategy role andresponsibility of Asia Pacific Purchasing department, the potential problems of currentsituation. To support and contribute for EL corporate sustainable growth, theimplementation of global purchasing strategy, qualified supplier selection and long termmaintenance.
