An Empirical Study On The Relations Between Energy Consumption, Carbon Emissions And Economic Growth In Inner Mongolia

Energy is an important material foundation in the economic and social development.Therelationship between energy consumption and economic growthis closely, energyconsumption which decides thesize and speedof economic growthis the driving force ofeconomic growth.The energy consumption can cause industrial structure adjustment,and italso can change the way of promoting economic development.Economic growth canpromote structure adjustment of energy,it also can promote technological progress and thefund supports of new energy for the development and utilization.All of these measuresmake energy efficiency improvedand the energy consumption strength decline.However,the rapid economic growth inevitably increase in energy consumption,theexpansionofenergy consumptionresult in a large number of greenhouse gas emissions.Allthese problems cause severe challenges to economy and society development.In order toreduce energy consumption for the environment and economy of the adverse impact,thestudy on the relationship between the energy consumption,carbon emissions and economicgrowthis significantly vital to the implementation of the energy saving and emissionreductionand develop the low carbon economy.At present,theecological environment isworsening.The traditional extensiveeconomic growth mode which is at the expense ofsacrificing environment is not applicable.Developing the low carbon economy becomes theinevitable choice of the countries all over the world.China is a big country greenhouse gasemissions and energy consumption.under the background of development insustainableand a low carbon economy,how to coordinate the relationship between energyconsumption,carbon emissions and economic growth is a key problem.In recentyears,along with the rapid economic development of Inner Mongolia,energy consumptiondemand grows day by day.The contradictions of the traditional energy and the ecologicalenvironment is obvious,which become the bottleneck restriction in economicdevelopment.All these problems should cause social concern.How to ensure reasonableenergy consumption,and the protection in ecological environment and economicsustainable development become serious problems to solve. Therefore,the work of thispaper mainly includes the six aspects as follow.The first chapter is the introduction.The paper expounds the basis and the researchsignificance.It also introduces the structure and framework.At the same time,it putsforward the innovation of this paper.The second chapter is the theory. This paper not only introduces the two relationsbetween the energy,the environment,the economy,also the relations of them discussed above are integrated in a system.The paper summarizes the four classical theory which isclosely related to the study of the energy, the environment and the economy.The third chapter is the analysis of current situation.The paper introduces the presentsituation of the energy,the environment and development of economy in InnerMongolia.The carbon emissions were calculated.The phenomenon of the high energyconsumption,high carbon emissions and economic gross and the total quantity of economygrowth and structure characteristics in Inner Mongolia is analyses comprehensively.The fourth chapter use the econometric model to analyse the relations amongenergy,environment and economic.First of all,it uses the method of cointegration and errorcorrection model to analyse the relation between energy consumption and economicgrowth.Second,it analyse the relation between the carbon emissions and economic growththrough the Tapio decoupling indicators.Finally,The paper establish VAR model to analysethe relationship of there.It also forecast carbon emissions,energy consumption and GDP inInner Mongolia in the future five years.The fifth chapter is still Empirical analysis.Based on the grey relation and Logarithmicmean Divisia Index(LMDI),the paper analyse the main factors on the impact of energyconsumption and carbon emissions in Inner Mongolia.According to the theoretical and empirical analysis,the countermeasures aboutenergy,environmental and economic sustainable development are put forward in InnerMongolia.
