A Study On Honey Export Benefit Of Hubei Province

Apiculture is the pillar industry, promoting the economic growth of Hubei province, and the bee product is the characteristic product of agricultural products in Hubei. A number of enterprises, which are mainly engaged in producing, processing and export of bee products, have small reputation at present in Hubei. Bee products include honey, royal jelly, bee venom, beeswax, propolis and bee pollen and other varieties. From2000to2011, annual export of honey in Hubei is above20000tons. Export volume ranks first in our country, and export value achieves about20million dollars each year. The share is relatively high in the domestic market, and also enjoys certain popularity in the international community. Hubei has become the first big province of bee products export in China, and export volume of bee products has ranked first in the country for twelve consecutive years. By using principal component analysis, the results show that Hubei is the largest province exporting bee product. The export of bee product has great influence on our country, and has a comparative advantage. But bee products export of Hubei is still in primary stage exporting raw materials, whose added value of products is not high, with low content of science and technology. There is still a big gap comparing with domestic and foreign high-quality bee products export regions or countries. At the same time, competitive advantage of bee product is relatively weak, influenced by internal and external factors. Therefore, all factors lead to relatively low economic benefits of export.By analyzing the export situation of bee product in Hubei province and existing problems and proving main influencing factors which influences the export benefit of bee product, this paper finally puts forward critical pathway in order to raise export benefit of bee products in Hubei province. The results of this study will be published both at home and abroad, in order to lay the foundation for related departments to make policy, and make contribution for Hubei to become a bigger and stronger province exporting bee products.
