With the continuous development of the economy in urban-rural integration, farmers income is of great significance in solving the three agricultural problems. Farmer investment is an important way to increase farmers’income. In addition to traditional agricultural production and investment, farmers can invest in non-agricultural industries. According to our investigation, Chengdu farmers’ non-agricultural industries investment income is higher than the agricultural investment income. Farmers can increase their family income through investment in non-agricultural industries. This essay finds influencing factors which can influence farmers’invest in agriculture and non-agricultural according our research and hopes to provide a significant reference to farmers and guides them a reasonable investment and large-scale production of agriculture.In this paper, statistics and survey data were used to analyze the investment structure and trends of the farmers in Chengdu. We find Chengdu farmers’investment has the following characteristics:the level of farmers’investment in agricultural industrialization is higher than non-agricultural industries; There was a rising trend of investment in non-agricultural industries, while there was a downward trend in agriculture industry investment in the past two years; the proportion of investment in non-agricultural industries farmers is low; the amount of investment in non-agricultural industries is small, the investment industry is not in high-tech. Through the analysis of the causes of farmers’ investment characteristics, this paper assumes that the impact factors of the investment behavior of farmers in agriculture and non-agricultural industries. An econometric model is used to analyze the significant factors affecting the investment behavior of farmers in agriculture and nonagricultural industries, the results show that:farmers’ agricultural investment behavior is affected by rural households engaged in agricultural production, land transfer, whether to adopt the new varieties of agricultural subsidies, income, lending to the amount of the individual, the degree of organization of rural households operate. Non-farm investment behavior is affected by the number of family members, land area, the number of migrant workers, family and social insurance, public facilities satisfaction, wage income, household per capita living expenditure.This paper regards that, in order to increase farmers’income, it is necessary to promote the farmers to do more investment in agriculture investment than in non-agricultural industries. And let farmers who willing to invest in agriculture to reduce the cost of agricultural production by large-scale agricultural production in order to increase farmers’agricultural investment income. According to the analysis and empirical results, this essay gives policy suggestions such as to guide farmers to do effective land transfer, to encourage farmers to join a variety of agricultural cooperative organizations, to strength the promotion of agricultural technology and new products, to improve the security system in rural areas and infrastructure, to encourage the farmers start their own businesses.
