A Comparative Analysis On The Copyright Trade Between China And The United States

With the development of technology, economy and culture, the importance of intellectual property rights in international trade is valued by more and more countries. The copyright trade as an import part of intellectual property rights is playing an irreplaceable role. Since the Reform and Opening-up, the copyright trade of our country has being developing gradually, but compared with Western countries, it had a late start and the level of development is backward currently. The copyright trade in the US has a longer development time, and the US has a perfect modern copyright system. At the same time, the copyright trade between China and the US is very active, but our country is in weak position. Therefore it is necessary to compare and analyze the foreign copyright trade of the two countries, and find the key problems of the foreign copyright trade in China from the experience of the US. On this basis, our country can combine this with Chinese characteristic, and improve the copyright trade of our country.In1977, the US government supported the copyright industry as an emphasis that was treated as an independent one. After the development of several decades, the copyright industry has become a pillar industry, and it contributes too much to the GDP, export and employment. In2010, the value added to US GDP by the total copyright industries was11.10%of US GDP. The core copyright industries contributes to export was second to chemical industries. At the same time, the copyright industry of the US is very competitive in the world, and especially the computer software and movie are always in dominant position. This article will analyze the copyright industry of the US from two perspectives, the support system and the present situation. The effective support system in the US contributes too much to the present achievement of copyright trade. The present situation of the copyright trade in the US will be analyzed from the growth rate, the contribution to economy and the export or sales of the four core copyright products.Whether the scale or the contribution to economy, there is obvious difference between the copyright trade of our country and that of the US, besides the trade deficit is large in our country. The same to the analysis of the copyright trade of the US, this article will also analyze that of our country from two perspectives, the support system and the present situation. Our country is at the primary stage of socialism, so there are several problems in every sides of the society, and the support system of the copyright trade does not make an exception. At the same time, the sum of the copyright trade of our country is increasing, but in the process there are also many problems exposed, for example, the large trade deficit, the imbalance of the development of different provinces and so on.As a new economic growth point, the copyright trade plays an irreplaceable role in both China and the US. Compared to the US, the copyright trade in our country is lack of competitive. This article will compare the competitive of the two countries on the basis of TC index, and it also finds the difference between the two countries in support system and the present situation. These will be valuable experience worth to be using for reference.According to the above analysis, this article will be dissertated from the following five parts:The first part will introduce the background and the significance of this article, and summary the current study status of the copyright trade.The second part will introduce the related concepts of copyright and the copyright trade and also briefly discuss the development of the copyright trade of the world.The third part will state the situation of China and the US, including development process、support system and present situation.The fourth part will compare the two countries. Firstly, based on TC index, it will compare the competitive of the copyright trade of the two countries and come to some conclusions. Secondly, it will explain the difference between China and the US from the following three perspectives, the support system, the contribution to economy and the balance status. The fifth part will discuss the problems of the copyright trade of our country based on the above analysis. Finally put forward some suggestions.
