Study On Copyright Trade In China

Pushed by the economic globalization, with the rapid development of knowledge economy, the copyright trade becomes an important part in modern international trade, and it is increasingly prominent. It has been attracting more and more attention of all over the world. China has a long history in book publishing,but the books copyright trade started relatively late, only several decades old. With the reformation and opening-up, the total volume of China's books copyright trade is increasing year by year,Meanwhile, there are still serious trade deficits. There exists ectopic phenomenon between introduced countries & qty. of books and exporting countries & qty. of books copyright, imports and exports of books copyright with single type, unbalanced development in various regions etc.. Nowadays, China's economic development has attracted worldwide attention for its great achievements, and China's international influence is gradually improving, but the performance of books copyright trade is not optimistic, which is inappropriate to our economic development and international status.Books copyright trade in China has competitive edge in cultural resources, books market demand, publishing support and associated industries, and support intensity etc.; Oppositely, it has disadvantages such as the difference between Chinese and Western cultural differences, economic & science position and comprehensive national strength differences, disordered domestic books copyright marketing, and low-level marketization of publishing industry etc.; there are a good deal of developing opportunities and challenges for books copyright trade in China. It is undeniable that China's books copyright trade in China still has many problems, which fundamentally restricts its healthy development. Problems seen from the country macro respect:, such as short of talents, low-level copyright agency, and lack of honesty etc.. Problem seen from the publishing enterprises' microscopic aspect:like books copyright's importing lack of reason, low-level copyright importing, books content and shape can not adapt the international market,the exporting has not enough self-motivated by publisher and so on. This article briefly introduces the history of books copyright trade in China and analyzes its current situation according to updated statistics of GAPP. It also discusses the developing environment of books copyright trade in China in detail, indicating that there are strong and weak points & both opportunities and challenges coexist. From both sides of country and publishers, analyzes the problems and reasons of China's books copyright trade, and to solve these existing problems, in order to make our copyright trade more effective and healthy, the country and publishers should make joint efforts. This article also analyzes many successful stories about domestic publishers' books copyright trade, and summarizes successful experiences in the activity and method of western developed countries' books copyright trade simultaneously, which will provide useful inspires to Chinese copyright trade. To the series problems existed in China's books copyright trade, the article has made policy suggestions to our government and publishers. It is hoped that the analyses in this article will be helpful to the copyright trade policy's creation by government and the publishers' copyright trade activities, then can be a material with theoretical research sense and practice guiding value to the great development of copyright trade in China.
