The auto industry has been known as the "engine of economic growth", which determines a country’s level of industrialization, always receives the various countries’ government attention. After nearly half a century of development, China has successfully established itself in the ranks of the world’s largest production and sales country of auto industry. Whether compared from the total car sales or the bicycle profit margins, our auto industry are still far from reaching the level of the global automotive powerhouse, we can say that China’s auto industry is in a "big but not strong" stage. In the"12th Five-Year Plan", the automotive industry was listed as the top one of the ten industry,which were planned to be developed. How to enlarge and strengthen China’s auto industry to enhance the competitiveness of the automotive industry, has become a pressing problem of China’s auto industry.On the basis of the relevant literature, this paper studies the theoretical foundations of industrial clustering and industry competitiveness, and summarizes the development status of the world auto industry to learn several foreign auto industry’s successful development experience. After review and combing the history of the development of China’s auto industry, the paper using the CR Index, HHI, and the N-index method to measure agglomeration status of the auto industry in the2001-2010years. The paper analyzes the relationship between concentration degree and auto industry performance. Come to the conclusion, we can find that the concentration degree of China’s auto industry and market performance is a significant positive correlation. Based on the basis of the foregoing static analysis, the article introduces a dynamic clustering model-Beiste model and analysis of the value application of the model of enhancing industrial competitiveness. The paper argues that, if we are to improve the competitiveness of China’s auto industry, should strive to foster innovative enterprises, strengthening specialization and collaboration of the network. The paper respect from the of view of the three parties of government, industry associations and enterprises, combined with their respective functions, discussed the development path of China’s auto industry, In order to promote the dynamic clustering process, change the "big but not strong" situation, Continue to improve the competitiveness of China’s auto industry.
