Research On The Impact Of Energy Consumption And Energy Efficiency On Economic Growth In China

It is sever that China’s economy has been constrained by energy shortage.These constraints derives from challenges:increasingly growing energy demand and greatly severe energy supply shortage and rather low energy efficiency.The goals of economic growth of China’s "12th Five-Year Plan are the average annual GDP growth rate of7%,the goal of energy saving and emission reduction requirements per unit of GDP energy consumption reduced by16%,which means that China must reduce energy consumption per unit of GDP basis to achieve economic growth.In this context,to explore the theoretical mechanisms of energy consumption and energy efficiency constraints of economic growth,energy energy consumption and energy efficiency to the size of the degree of constraint on economic growth,providing policy ideas for how to achieve economic growth in the energy constraints.Firstly, large amounts of data to the comparative analysis method shows that the energy imbalance between supply and demand,energy efficiency,low constraint status quo.Secondly,in theory,summarized the energy constraint mechanism of the Theory of Economic Growth,and the establishment of a production function model considering energy consumption,energy efficiency,and then solve the mathematical formula of the energy consumption,energy efficiency constraints of sustainable economic growth conditions.Then, this mathematical model is the basis of the measured time series data,the collection of relevant variables tested from an empirical point of view of energy consumption,energy efficiency,the size of the constraint on economic growth.We draw in the capital stock and labor input growth rates remain unchanged:(1) energy consumption, energy efficiency, larger constraint to economic growth;(2) a large number by the energy input to drive economic growth can replaced by a substantial increase in energy efficiency.Finally,this article suggests that to optimize the energy structure in order to reduce energy consumption,improve energy efficiency,continue to advocate the concept of low-carbon economy in order to achieve sustainable growth of the Chinese economy.
