Undergraduate students’employment has always been a hot social issue. The research has been started very early in both theoretical and academic area from a multi-disciplinary perspectives such as economics, sociology, management, education and psychology, which has reached lots of results. However, according to the recent research results, most studies are based on the theoretical system and the framework of the original discipline. The crossover research about undergraduate students’employment from the different disciplines perspectives is still in the initial stage.Mainly from two angles of human capital and social capital, this paper studies the influence on undergraduate students’ employment caused by these two kinds of capital, and tries to explain how the employment orientation affects the employment from the students’subjectivity. Thus, this paper has set up the framework as following.Chapter one overviews the main idea of this paper. Chapter two defines the related conceptions, summarizes the theoretical basis, and further analyzes how the employment affects the undergraduate students’employment in theory. Chapter three introduces the design of questionnaire and the collection of data with descriptive statistics of the survey. In chapter4, establish Multinomial Logistic Regression model from the point of econometrics to analyze what affect undergraduate students’employment orientation and their influence degree. Chapter five puts forward countermeasures to alleviate the problem.Adopting the method of random sampling, this paper conducts a questionnaire survey of1597students in five colleges, including4grades from senior to third-year graduate student. The questionnaire mainly focuses on students’human capital, social capital and employment orientation, and confirms the main facts which affect the undergraduate students’employment orientation through descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. Because most facts are discrete variables, this paper builds a Multinomial Logistic Regression model. And through establishing the model it analyzes quantitatively how human capital and social capital affect undergraduate students’employment orientation in the control of other variables. The result shows that human capital and social capital both have a significant impact on the employment orientation of undergraduate students. When choosing ideal employment area, the students with the CET-6certificate and the social practice experience, or whose parents are in higher professional social class with rich social resource, tend to choose the economically developed areas. When choosing the expected monthly salary level, people passing the CET-6with social practice experience, or whose parents owning the degree of bachelor or above with rich social resources, expect to achieve a higher salary level. The conclusion of this paper is helpful to find the internal causes of difficult employment from the students themselves, and reaches a comprehensive understanding of employments orientation of undergraduate students. And using normative analysis and research on this basis, we put forward to some referential suggestions to promote the university students’ employment. First, governmental departments should do more work to promote the undergraduate students’ employment. Second, colleges should do more work and establish employment guidance mechanisms. Third, undergraduate students should act more positively to improve their employment ability, and enhance their human capital and social capital.
