21st century, with the continuous development of China’s economic, scientific andtechnological and market environment is rapidly changing. Facing the product to speed upreplacement, some products life is shorter than the new product development cycle.Competitive strategy of manufacturing enterprises have converted from the competition ofpure physical capital to the competitive of product innovation capabilities. Businesses mustcontinuously innovate. On the basis of understanding and grasping the characteristics ofthe times, that improve the core competitiveness by introducing new technologies and newproducts to adapt to changes in the external environment. The performance of the productinnovation is a concrete manifestation of the enterprise innovation ability, and thedevelopment of high-tech and highly complex products often require across a number ofareas. This requires a unified knowledge management model between industry chain andenterprises, to avoid the formation of islands of information which is not conducive to thesharing of knowledge and innovation. Product innovation is a high-risk and high-costactivities. There are very few companies which are fully equipped with the necessaryknowledge and resources, so companies need to acquire and share knowledge for productinnovation. Therefore, this is necessary to study product innovation performance andmicroscopic mechanism between the impact factors.This paper proposed the research framework of manufacturing product innovationperformance on the base of the relevant theory and research on product innovationperformance model,which combined with the special nature of the manufacturing sector.In this paper, the data collected through the questionnaire which included two aspects ofinternal knowledge sharing, external knowledge. The paper analyzed the relationshipbetween the variables by structural equation. The results show that internal knowledge sharing and external knowledge acquisition have a positive influence to product innovationperformance. And external knowledge can stronger the innovation performance throughexternal knowledge acquisition and internal R&D capabilities.Therefore,the manufacturingenterprises can take the following measures in order to enhance the performance of theproduct:First, improve the level of knowledge sharing within the enterprise; Second, enhancethe ability to acquire knowledge of the business from the outside; Third, attention theconstruction of the internal R&D capabilities, and use external resources to improve productinnovation performance.
