In2011, China’s import and export value exceeded300ten billion, was the first foreign trade economies in the world. China has become the world’s largest trading nation, but not the powerful country of international trade. To transform China from a big trading country to a powerful trading country, and export technology upgrading have a profound era heritage, it is particularly important. China’s export technical level was rising since join WTO, the same period China’s economic infrastructure construction has made remarkable achievements. Whether there is a consistent link between the skills upgrading of China’s export products and the economic infrastructure construction. Domestic research on the issue is still rare.In the view of the firm heterogeneity in this article, to demonstrate the mechanisms of economic infrastructure affect the export product technology upgrading from theory. Based on the eight index of comparative advantage, we calculate the export product technical level and the height of export technology structure of China’s provinces. Through statistical analysis on China’s eastern, central and western regions of economic infrastructure (transportation infrastructure, energy infrastructure, information infrastructure) and the export product technical level, the height of export technology structure since join the WTO, we find that there are regional differences between China’s eastern, central and western regions. Areas with better economic infrastructure construction, there are higher export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure.In order to objectively and scientific study on this issue, this article uses2002-2008data of China’s29provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Static panel and dynamic panel system GMM were used to verify the three major economic infrastructure impacts on China’s export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure. The empirical results show that transportation infrastructure and information infrastructure play a significant role in promoting export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure. The estimated coefficient of the energy infrastructure on export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure are negative. In addition, the expansion of the scale of imports will not upgrade the export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure, human capital endowments, foreign direct investment, research and development expenses and the per capita capital stock have played a positive role on the export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure. Based on the empirical results, this paper presents recommendations to further improve the construction of economic infrastructure and promote export products technology upgrading.The contents of this article is divided into six parts:The introduction elaborate on the background of the topic, theoretical significance and practical significance as well as the results of domestic and foreign scholars’ research, and review of the literature, an overview of the research methods, structural arrangements, the innovation point and difficulty of the article. The second chapter defined the meaning and characteristics of the economic infrastructure, elaborated the concept of export product sophistication, export products technological content and the height of export product technology structure. The third chapter theoretically analyzed the mechanisms of economic infrastructure affect the export product technology upgrading. Chapters four and five are the empirical parts of this article. Systematically estimate the China’s regional economic infrastructure stock, build export product technical level indicators to estimate and compare the export products technology level and the height of export products technology structure of different provinces. Trying to explain the export technology upgrading from the economic infrastructure perspective. Further use dynamic panel data to analyze the impact of economic infrastructure on the export product technology upgrading by econometric methods, then explain the parameter estimates for each variable. Chapter six are policy recommendations based on the conclusions of this study.
