From the view of world economic development history, highly developed manufacturing is the foundation of national modernization, the manufacturing’s competitive strength is the important embodiment of the national comprehensive strength. In the modernization of China, the manufacturing is not only the engine of China’s economic growth, but also an important carrier of the social labor employment and scientific and technological innovation. However, after the financial crisis, the developed countries launched to the reindustrialization strategy, and it’s main characteristics was returning to the real economy. The reindustrialization strategy essentially is the process of transformation of the developed countries’economic development model, is the process of the transformation and upgrade of traditional advantage manufacturing industries, is the process of industrial structure adjustment in which emerging industries are the main body, is the process of continuous innovation. The developed countries have put forward a series of policies and measures to promote the reindustrialization strategy, these policies and measures had a positive effect, and gradually began to influence global economic pattern, international industrial transfer, international trade and international industrial division. As a developing country, China has to face the great influence.Under the background of reindustrialization, this paper analyses the opportunities and challenges that China’s manufacturing industry faces to. The results show that, the challenges are greater than the opportunities, the difficulty is more than a way out. This is mainly embodied in that China’s manufacturing industry is not only in the face of pressure in the high-end market from the developed countries, but also in the low-end of the market from southeast Asia countries. So China’s manufacturing industry has stepped into embarrassed position. How to reshape and consolidate the Chinese manufacturing industry’s competitive advantage in the international market becomes a very important issue, and it’s also the issues that this paper focuses on.Through the analysis of panel data, this paper gets the conclusion that industrial concentration and industrial cluster is the main influence factors of competitiveness of manufacturing industry, and the information service industry, which is a representative of producer services, also has significant influence on manufacturing competitiveness, and the introduction of foreign technology has more significant influence on capital or labor intensive industry’s competitiveness than domestic technology research.Based on the analysis results, this paper argues that the promotion of China’s manufacturing development competitiveness should depend on the mergers and reorganizations of manufacturing enterprises, the cluster development of manufacturing, the development of the productive service industry, the depth fusion of industrialization and informatization, and the increase of research and education investment.
