Manufacturing is the cornerstone of economic development of a country, is an important basis for the development of the national economy, is the main basis for economic growth and economic transformation and upgrading, determine the status of the country in the international arena. Jiangsu Province as the country’s largest manufacturing province, not only for the development of its manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province’s economic development has made outstanding contributions, but also greatly contributed to the industrialization process of the whole country. In recent years, the rapid development of manufacturing industries in Jiangsu Province, particularly in the computer and communications industry’s dominant manufacturing plays an important role. But it is undeniable, Jiangsu manufacturing industry itself has a high enough level, the international market share is not high independent innovation capability is not strong enough and so on. Jiangsu Province Manufacturing how to seize the opportunities of the times, with its own regional advantages, and continuously improve the competitiveness of the industry is not only a necessary condition to promote industrial development in Jiangsu Province, is the process of industrialization in the country urgent problems.This paper focus on the development of the characteristics of Jiangsu Province, manufacturing, industrial competitiveness learning theory, using factor analysis of the level of competitiveness of the three years from 2010 to 2012 within the manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province to study the various sub-sectors, we can see uneven development of various segments of the industry, tobacco, telecommunications and other manufacturing industries in Jiangsu Province, has a strong competitive edge, and style, furniture and other manufacturing development is relatively slow. Secondly, manufacturing exports, Jiangsu Province, based in Jiangsu Province selected six manufacturing more competitive industry as the research object to analyze the situation of external competitiveness. As can be seen in the six selected industries relative to the national average have a comparative advantage; and the more obvious competitive communications industry, electrical industry development potential is better, textile development potential weak. Then, using the panel data model and impulse response functions are factors Jiangsu Province Manufacturing Competitiveness analysis from both internal and external angles. The results show that internal factors, the contribution rate of new products, the number of mobile asset turnover, and labor productivity are the three variables have a positive impact on the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector in Jiangsu Province, the contribution of current assets turnover number of the largest, followed by new product contribution rate and labor productivity. Foreign direct investment and asset-liability ratio variable has a negative impact on the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector in Jiangsu Province, and the degree of influence of the two quite different. External factors, the manufacturing and sales of urban residents per capita disposable long-term stable relationship between income per capita net income of rural residents, international tourism foreign exchange earnings, post and telecommunications and finance and insurance income, including international tourism foreign exchange earnings the largest contribution to reach 35%, the contribution of finance and insurance income minimum, only 3%. Finally, the development of the manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province put forward policy recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province level.
