Marked by the Third Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China in1978, Chinahas entered a new era of reform and opening up in which remarkable achievements are madeand its overall national strength are enhanced after the Reform and Opening up Policy areimplemented. All these are known as the "China model" or "China miracle". In retrospect ofthe past thirty years, China, a former poor and backward agricultural country, has successfullybecome an industrialized one and what unfolds in front of us is one attractive beautiful pictureas well as a humbling and inspiring magnificent poem. And what has contributed most to thethriving thirty years in economic development is the correct choice of economic strategy andpath. Thus, after clarifying of how economic modernization advances since the reform andopening up, based on the summary of how developed countries, such as UK, The USA andJapan, push forward its economic modernization, this thesis strives to provide new ideas forthe smooth development of China’s economic modernization and the full realization ofsocialist modernization by offering the correct path of economic modernization with thepriorities and direction toward which our economic modernization should head.The paper consists of four parts. The first part is the overview of related concepts andtheoretical research, introducing the concept of modernization, economic modernization, andthe path of economic modernization with economic modernization theory explained bothfrom the narrow and broad sense. In addition, this part also introduces socialist economicmodernization theoretical results put forward by the three generations of central collectiveleadership of the Communist Party of China after the reform and opening up which keeps upthe continuous development with Chinese characteristics; The second part mainly explainshow the development goals of China’s economic modernization are determined after thereform and opening up, summarizing the "three-step" strategy, the evolution of the"three-step" strategy as well as the "five in one" strategy development process proposed inthis year’s of China proposed. Combined with the latest Connotation and spirit of theEighteenth National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China, this part highlightsthe protective and promotive role the ecological modernization have played in the process ofeconomic modernization; The third part is the general introduction of the ways selected bythose which have finished its economic modernizations such as The UK, The USA and Japan,and their useful experiences to China. The economic modernization of the three countriesstarts in different batches of world modernization and their experiences and lessons ofeconomic modernization have various referential warning for the current and coming periodof economic modernization. The fourth part introduces the developing paths of Chinese economic modernization in combination with the construction of the Eighteenth NationalPeople’s Congress of the Communist Party of China "four modernizations"—" We shouldkeep to the Chinese-style path of carrying out industrialization in a new way and advancing ITapplication, urbanization and agricultural modernization. We should promote integration of ITapplication and industrialization, interaction between industrialization and urbanization, andcoordination between urbanization and agricultural modernization, thus promotingharmonized development of industrialization, IT application, urbanization and agriculturalmodernization."
