The Research On Corporate Social Responsibility Information Disclosure Of Pharmaceutical Industry In China

The researches of "Corporate social responsibility" have been for a long time. Todaywith the rapid economic and social development in the world, contradictions betweenresources, environment, population and society have become increasingly prominent. Thisis not only to require corporation to bear more social responsibilities, and also placedhigher expectations of society to explore the theories and practices of social responsibilityinformation disclosure. Due to the characteristics of pharmaceutical industry, the quality ofits products is directly related to people’s health and even life safety. Therefore, to protecthuman health becomes pharmaceutical companies’ responsibility. In addition, because ofhigh energy consumption, water consumption and the serious waste pollution, energyconservation and environmental protection have also become a formidable corporate socialresponsibility. In recent years, events such as “poison capsule” trigger a hot debate onpharmaceutical companies’ social responsibility. Accordingly， the research on thepharmaceutical corporate social responsibility information disclosure become more urgent.In this paper, with the characteristics and the social responsibility of thepharmaceutical industry，China’s social responsibility information disclosure index systemfor pharmaceutical industry was build. It can be used to analyze China’s pharmaceuticalindustry social responsibility information disclosure level and to find out where theproblem lies. Then, depend on the advanced experiences of foreign countries and GSKpharmaceutical company, the paper gave the methods to optimize the pattern of socialresponsibility information disclosure for China’s pharmaceutical industry.Through research, the paper said: China’s pharmaceutical industry socialresponsibility information disclosure has some problems, for example, laws andregulations are not sound, weak awareness of disclosure and the lack of quantitativeinformation disclosure. Therefore, we should encourage pharmaceutical enterprises toimprove the content and the way of their social responsibility information disclosure and tointroduce of the third-party audit report. At the same time, we should accelerate the construction of social responsibility information disclosure index system for China’spharmaceutical industry, the establishment of mandatory and voluntary unity of socialresponsibility information disclosure system and the pharmaceutical industry socialresponsibility information disclosure assurance standard, so that the social responsibilityinformation disclosure of the pharmaceutical industry in China has been further optimized.
