Research Of Comprehensive Evaluation And Enhanced Countermeasure Of Western Provincial Industrial Competitiveness

Due to the impact of historical, geographical, industrial structure,institutional policy and many other factors, industrial competitiveness ofwestern provincial regions especially the underdeveloped provincialregions is relatively weak, which becomes the "bottleneck" of constraintto further enhance of the competitiveness of Chinese industry. Based onthis, this article attempts to provide some recommendations to effectivelyenhance the western provincial regional industrial competitivenessthrough the analysis and comprehensive evaluation of the westernprovincial regional industrial competitiveness.First, this article defines the concept of provincial regional industrialcompetitiveness, systematically analyses the main factors and thetheoretical basis of affecting the western provincial regional industrialcompetitiveness and designs the provincial regional industrialcompetitiveness evaluation index system on the basis of commenting ontheoretical research of the influencing factors, empirical research andthe industrial competitiveness study at home and abroad. Second, thisarticle analyses empirically the industrial competitiveness of China’swestern provincial regions through using the method of combination offactor analysis and cluster analysis. The results show that: productionscale, production performance, technological innovation of productionand sustainability are the three main factors affecting the western provincial regional industrial competitiveness; the level of provincialregional industrial competitiveness is uneven and the gap remains large;the level of the industrial competitiveness of most provincial region inthree main factor aspects exist their own uneven. Finally, this article putsforward policy recommendations to enhance the western provincialregional industrial competitiveness on the basis of empirical research:Firstly, It is badly necessary to focus on creating the dominant industrialbase and effort to achieve industrial-scale production; Secondly, It isbadly necessary to accelerate the pace of scientific and technologicalinnovation and strive to improve production performance; Thirdly, It isbadly necessary to vigorously develop the circular economy and improvesustainable ability of production.
