Research On The Competitiveness Of Software Industry In Jiangsu Province

The software industry is the foundation, development, strategic and leading industry of modern social, plays a huge role in promoting the development of the national economy. Jiangsu attaches great importance to the development of software industry. Scientific understanding and accurate assessment of the region, Jiangsu Software Industry Competitiveness and Making policy analysis is needed urgently.This paper briefly introduces the concept, definitions and classifications of the software industry, and the global and state industry development trend. Reviewed and summarized the industry competitiveness theories briefly, and made a SWOT analysis of Jiangsu Software Industry Development--the advantages of software industry development in Jiangsu, the disadvantages of Jiangsu Software Industry Development, the opportunities of Jiangsu Software Industry Development and the threats of Jiangsu Software Industry Development.Based on the composition of industrial competitiveness, we build a regional software industry competitiveness evaluation index system. Select the software business sales revenue, cost margins, gross profit and maintenance and appreciation of capital, R&D funding, enterprises value-added, number of employees by the end of the year as these seven indicators to evaluate the software industry. Using cluster analysis, and then factor analysis with SPSS statistical analysis software, with the data of the thirteen City, Jiangsu Province, the software industry2010, conducts a competitive analysis, the software industry Competitiveness for thirteen cities. Based on the results of the regional competitiveness of software industry in Jiangsu were analyzed, Data in2007did the same cluster analysis and factor analysis. It shows us the change of the competitiveness rankings from2007to2010.Finally, relevant policy recommendations are proposed to improve the competitiveness of the software industry for the evaluation results.The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter One:Introduction. Introduces the research background, purpose and meaning, research ideas and content of this paper. Describes the software industry definitions, concepts and categories, domestic and foreign software industry development status and market outlook, an overview of China’s software industry and support policies introduced.Chapter Two:Introduces relevant theory of industrial competitiveness, including theory of comparative advantage, theory of competitive advantage, comparative advantage and competitive advantage dual theory, industrial cluster theory and other related theories. This chapter is the theoretical basis for this article.Chapter Three:The development of software and information services of Jiangsu Province are briefly described, including the industry scale of decades, the development of software industry in Jiangsu from2001to2010, software companies and software product numbers identified in Jiangsu these years, Jiangsu Software and information services outsourcing development, and has done a SWOT analysis.Chapter Four:Build the software industry competitiveness evaluation index system. According to the2010and2007data, with the use of cluster analysis and factor analysis respectively, conducted a competitive ranking of the software industry for thirteen City in Jiangsu. Compared the result and made conclusions.Chapter Five:According to the results of prior empirical analysis, made policy recommendations of Jiangsu Software Industry Development and strategy to ensure the realization.
