Evaluation Of Urban Competitiveness In Fujian Province

In the regional economic integration today, all countries in the world are facing development opportunities and competitive challenges. Urban is an important carrier of regional economic development, and regional political, economic, and cultural center, has been seen as the main engine of economic growth and regional competition, played a more and more role in regional development and economic growth. Therefore, in recent years the research on urban competitiveness increasingly aroused the theoretical circle and practitioners. At present, China is undergoing an important stage of industrialization and urbanization, research on urban competitiveness should continue to deepen.Fujian province is an important part of the Hercynian Economic Zone, now in a period of important development opportunities. Research on urban competitiveness of Fujian province, have important realistic guiding significance for strengthening urban cooperation, raising the overall level of development in Fujian Province and promoting the Hercynian Economic Zone development.An important prerequisite to enhance the urban competitiveness is the all-round, multi-level, detailed and comprehensive description and evaluation to the situation of Urban’s economic and social development.This article first reviewed the competitiveness theoretical approaches, focused on the urban competitiveness evaluation index system’s characteristics and the relative background knowledge that was used, and learning from this, according to the "Five in One" construction of18th party congress and the "Twelfth Five Year Plan" of Fujian Province, the article constructed a new set of urban competitiveness evaluation index system; the article used SPSS statistical analysis software, and the means of factor analysis, to evaluate the urban in Fujian from six aspects of economic development, structural adjustment, standard of living, public services, ecological environment, infrastructure, then used the classification scores of competitiveness of each urban in Fujian Province as the cluster variables to make cluster analysis, thus we divided the urban into four grades and commented:Xiamen and Fuzhou as the first grade, Quanzhou as the second grade, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Putian, Nanping and Ningde as the third grade, Sanming as the fourth grade; finally, based on the conclusion in the empirical analysis, from the perspective of regional cooperation, it put forward the corresponding policy proposals.
