The past30years,economic and outward foreign direct investment inJinchang city has made extraordinary progress. And average economicgrowth rate per annum has reached from14%to18%.And manyeconomic index has made great increase.However,as a typical resourcescity,Jinchang city has some inevitable problems,such as high-dependenceon resources,simple indusirial structures,unreasonable indusirial structureratio,all this problems will limit it’s environment protect and sustainabledevelopment.At the same time,according to the policy which made by ourcountry and the city government,outward foreign direct investment hasmade excellent progress through introduce advanced technologies fromforeign industrial.This policy has bring technology improve in thiscity,especially in mining,and improve development on the whole city.Under such circumstance,this article set Jinchang city as anexample,focus on the relationship between outward foreign directinvestment and industrial structure upgrade,summarized the status ofprevious studies,analysis Jinchang city’s development,policy directionand development goals,Use Co-integration test analysis the relationshipbetween outward foreign direct investment and industrial structuresimprovement,then had the conclusion that outward foreign directinvestment can improve industrial structure,and outward foreign directinvestment is the reason of industrial structure improvement.Finally to provide proposals how to change the methods or direction on outwardforeign direct investment and also the industrial structures.This dissertation is based on the development character of Jinchangcity,and it’s outward foreign direct investment,indusirial structure.Thenmake a simple analysis of the theory and mechanism of action of outwardforeign direct investment and industrial structure improvement frommacro and micro angle.After that,do a co-integration test about outwardforeign direct investment and industrial structure upgrade. At the end ofthe series of policy suggestions are provided.
