In the21st century, the world economy is apparently characterized by knowledge. Therefore, knowledge, as a critical factor of production, plays a key role on the economic development. With the emerging and development of knowledge economy led by knowledge industry, business practice of enterprises also presents obviously new features accordingly. Enterprises’capital gain then mainly depends on knowledge workers’ knowledge and capability, which causes a transformation on their principles and methods about the management of such employees. As for High-tech enterprises, the typical example for knowledge economy, their competences stem from knowledge workers. Hence, such kind of workers has been a focus that various large companies compete for, which objectively provides the motivation and possibility of knowledge workers’ turnover. What’s more, personalities of such workers also determine their high turnover rates to some extent. However, for enterprises, especially high-tech ones, high turn-over rate would not only lead to severe economic loss, but also affect the reputation of enterprises, and might even threat their sustainable development. Considering this, how to effectively manage knowledge workers and to prevent dimission, so as to reduce the risk and loss resulted from dimission becomes the main concern of enterprise leaders. This study focused on the knowledge workers and chose high-tech enterprises as the specific objectives. We discussed on knowledge workers’ personalities, high-tech enterprises’ characteristics, their requirements on talents and so on. All the above consist the main subjects of this study. At the beginning of this paper, we defined what are high-tech enterprises and knowledge workers, followed by a review of the related theories on staff dimission. After taking high-tech enterprises’features into consideration, we confirmed the factors affecting such dimission. Later on, a questionnaire on this topic was designed based on previous researches. The survey was conducted in four high-tech enterprises and investigated their knowledge workers. After collecting questionnaires, we undertook a statistic analysis on the individual variables using the methods of descriptive statistics and single-factor variance analysis with SPSS. In the next step, we built a staff dimission model with Structural Equation Modeling. Finally, we found that the main factors which lead to dimmision were as follows. They were organizational commitment, staff’s career development, relationship between colleagues, salary and so forth. These factors were significantly related with staff dimission and were verified in out study. In the end, according to the influential factors found in this study, we undertook an optimal design concerning high-tech enterprises’management strategy toward knowledge workers in Lanzhou.
