Study On The Influence Of Rural Human Capital Accumulation On Grain Production

Human Capital is the main source to enhance economic development, which has been proved by many classical theories and has been a consensus. But questions and disputes appear when it comes to the issue whether the human capital can promote the agricultural production prominently or not. Meanwhile, China pays much attention to changing economic development ways, the quality and efficiency of agricultural development and the importance of technology and human capital. Thus, being theoreticly ambiguous, the effect and contribution of human capital are of great importance in reality. So, it is significant to further study the influences of rural human capital accumulation on grain production, which is benefit to bringing the rural human capital into play, increasing grain output and guaranteeing grain safty.Based on different points of view, different levels and defferent dimensions, and cutting in rural human capital, this dissertation follows the train of thought that "discovering science question, proposing hypothesis, theoretically demonstrating and empirically testing". The main research contents are:a) the theoretical analysis on the influence of rural human capital on grain production, b) the estimation and description of rural human capital stock. c) the empirical analysis on the influence and its threshold effect of rural human capital accumulation on grain production.The main conclusions are:a) rural human capital stock has obvious temporal and spatial characteristics. b) rural human capital accumulation has obvious threshold effects on grain production. c) the threshold effects of rural human capital accumulation on grain production have obvious temporal and spatial characteristics.The possible innovation of this dissertation is the application of empirical research method. On one hand, when estimating the rural human capital stock, improve the Method of Education Year Accumulation to build an appropriate estimation model of human capital. On the other hand, with the panel data from1997to2011of China’s rural areas, build a dynamic threshold panel model to analyze the effect of rural human capital on grain production so as to gain some regularity cognizance.According to the conclusions, some measures should be taken to boost the rural human capital stock, to optimize the regional structure of rural human capital and to step over the threshold of rural human capital. Specifically speaking, they are:improving the relative system like rural education system, public health services system and household registration system, to improve the investment environment of human capital; optimizing resource allocation to shrink the regional gap of human capital; advancing technology progress to accelerate the rural human capital to step over the threshold; increasing farmers’income to strengthen the motive of human capital.
